Job Description
Position Overview
The Intern, International Operations will work from the Marlins Dominican Academy to ensure the fluid daily workings of both the Scouting and Player Development Department. The role will have a dual reporting relationship with the Assistant Director of International Scouting as well as Player Development Staff.
Day-to-day assignments will vary from setting up technology at our academy, assisting with the preparation for on-site scouting workouts, and other administrative functions as assigned by their supervisors. The ideal candidate must be inquisitive, data-driven, and open-minded, and must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Aid in the implementation of new technology to collect information and improve player performance.
• Perform administrative functions (Rosters, Lineups, data collection, Cuban player tracker, drug tests, investigation forms) as assigned.
• Assist on-field scouts, coordinators, coaches, Baseball Analytics, and Sports Science with administrative functions.
• Send out collected data, rosters, and other assigned research projects to supervisors as assigned.
• Assist in the setup of complex technology and data collection (Trackman, video, bat sensors)
• Additional duties or projects assigned by upper management (Directors, AGM's, etc).
Qualifications
• Applicants are expected to fulfill the duration of the position.
• High level of interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with wide range of departments, seniority levels and personalities.
• Prefer applicants with some combination of Microsoft Office, video, coaching, playing, scouting, baseball technology experience.
• Prior baseball/softball experience and bilingual are a plus but not required
