The Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball Systems team is committed to building and maintaining the technological platforms for baseball data, analysis, and decision-making for the Dodgers, and to providing technical expertise and advice across Dodger Baseball Operations. We focus on both the tools needed to put a winning team on the field today and those we need to ensure a winning future.
The Baseball Systems Intern will work on their own technical project with the goal of deploying it to production. This project will be drawn from Baseball Systems' prioritization queue and selected for its ability to be implemented independently within the timeframe, for its match with the selected intern's specific skills and experience, and for its ability to make a real contribution for our users. This will include requirements analysis, user consultation, some code design, implementation (in Python, JavaScript, or both, and SQL), testing, and deployment. The intern will additionally be responsible for assistance with draft procedures.
Basic Requirements/Qualifications:
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with Python or Javascript
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Any experience with cloud services and distributed computing concepts is a plus
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree OR are currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution
• Must be available to live and work in Los Angeles or your assigned office location throughout the duration of your 3-month program during the summer months
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
• Passionate about working for a professional sports team
• Proactive and out of the box thinking
