Los Angeles Angels-2025 Community Relations Intern (Inland Empire Focus)
Overview:
The Community Relations Intern will work closely with the Director, Community Relations and the Manager of Foundation and Community Initiatives in organizing programs and Angels Nike RBI events in the Inland Empire community. They will assist with community outreach programs, sort and process fan mail and handle various administrative tasks. The Community Relations Intern will also work with nonprofit partners and fans for gameday responsibilities, including but not limited to pregame experiences, ceremonies and group visits.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and/or experience with youth programming in the Inland Empire community, including but not limited to: YMCA programs, Afterschool Programs, Youth Groups, etc. The position will be based in Anaheim, CA with expected travel to Inland Empire for execution of events and community engagement.

The hourly pay rate for this position is $16.50/hr. This position is also eligible for sick time (after 90 days of employment) and 401k employee contributions after 3 months. Interns are also eligible for perks such as game tickets, early office closure pay, merchandise discounts and more.

Duties (included but not limited to):
• Work day to day with management on executing the Angels Youth Baseball and Softball programming, including Angels Nike RBI Leagues, Clinics, Camps, and MLB youth sport initiatives in the Inland Empire community, which will require travel to Inland Empire from Anaheim, CA.
• Arrange for photographer and video coverage of Angels events in the Inland Empire community.
• Compile and format stories and photos from Inland Empire based events for the Angels in the Community E-Newsletter and Angels Magazine.
• Assist with youth baseball/softball clinics in a preparation and on-field role, including Play Ball Weekend, JR42 Clinics, Clemente Clinic, and the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run events.
• Answer phone and email inquiries for the department from Inland Empire based fans and charitable organizations
• Assist with Inland Empire based donation requests and fulfillment, group ticket donations, and coordinate distribution
• Assist management with Angels Baseball Foundation event operations and other duties for events including the Angels Golf Tournament, Angels 5k and Fun Run, Kids Holiday Party and Back 2 School event.
• Assist with the preparation for various major Community Relations initiatives, including Rally Readers, Adopt-A-School, Classroom Connections and children's hospital player visits.
• Assist in coordinating the timely dissemination of event information to all communication departments, i.e., media, advertising, marketing and sales, to ensure proper external communication

Qualifications:
• High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Prior experience working with non-profit organizations or coordinating community relations programs preferred
• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
• Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build and maintain business relationships
• Ability to communicate with various departments and levels of management throughout the Angels Baseball organization and other external organizations that participate or contribute to the community outreach program
• Available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Must have a valid driver's license. Satisfactory driving record and ability to comply with company's cart/car policy.

Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to traverse office and stadium frequently
• Ability to work in inclement weather (when in stadium)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
