Intern - Master Control / Operations

Job Description

KOMO TV is seeking an intern candidate with an interest in the operational side of broadcasting.

The specific areas this position would have exposure to includes:
• Master Control/NOC. This area operates over 50 channels of multiple networks and controls television broadcast equipment to transmit television programs and commercials to the viewing audience. Master Control is responsible for on-air switching, dubbing and transferring programs/commercials from various multi-media platforms, and gathering satellite feeds for broadcast use.
• Production control room consisting of Ross Automation, Teleprompter operation, Studio infrastructure, robotic cameras and audio equipment

Candidates should have a strong interest in the technical side of broadcasting, have good communication skills, a passion for learning, and the ability to work evening shifts, which may include weekends.

KOMO/KUNS Channel 4 New Internship Requirements:
• Current students, recent graduates and graduate students are eligible.
• Each intern is required to work up to 15 hours per week for 12 weeks.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Students entering their junior or senior year, or a graduate program preferred.
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail are a must.
• Must show internship is approved by University upon hiring.
• Interns are required to work in office at KOMO News in Seattle, WA.

The hourly compensation for this role is $20.76 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
