About the Role & Program

The Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) Visual Effects Global Production department is responsible for strategic oversight of all visual effects at the studio, including work on Star Wars and other intellectual property in feature films, Television, theme park experiences, commercial tie-ins, etc. We work with executives and producers to budget, plan, and staff for projects as well as coordinating production handled by the individual teams assigned at ILM.

Working out of ILM's SVP/GM's office, this intern will provide administrative and back up support to the VFX production team working on various projects while gaining an opportunity to learn about the production environment and process at ILM!

What You Will Do

In this role, you will primarily take direction from the Production Manager and handle a variety of administrative, research, special projects and various tasks related to VFX Production on any of the projects under the VFX Umbrella described above. You may have dedicated time on a particular project or may help as needed across the breadth of projects in production. Projects could include but not be limited to:
Managing show life-cycle reports
Acting as a Production assistant
Coordinating details and schedules for Departmental meetings
Hosting guests and executives during their time onsite

Required Qualifications and Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and social skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities.
Skilled in time management and balancing multiple projects at once
Ability to problem solve and shift priorities quickly in response to changing circumstances
Excellent organizational and follow through skills
Proven track record at working autonomously and in team settings with a positive demeanor
Technical competence on PC platform and Mac with an understanding in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Mail
A general understanding of the film and VFX process, with a desire to work in the industry
The ability to work with discretion around proprietary information

Education

Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in film, art, theater, communications or related field, preferred.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information
Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship which will split between time onsite and working from home.
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024- August 2024. Must provide own housing during the internship in the San Francisco area
Must have reliable transportation to/from work
