Job Description
Department: Astros Golf Foundation

Reports to: Office Administrator

Classification: Part-time/Non-exempt/Seasonal

Period: January 6, 2025-May 9, 2025 (Texas Children's Houston Open week: March 24-30)

Summary/Objective:
The Finance Intern will provide administrative support to the Astros Golf Foundation. This includes, but is not limited to, customer billing, vendor payments, data entry, maintaining accounting records, and routine administrative support. The selected individual must be professional and able to handle a large amount of confidential information.

This candidate will work directly with the VP, Accounting & Finance, the Manager, Accounting & Finance, and the Office Administrator.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Perform general accounting functions such as: processing deposits, processing invoices for payment, and sending invoices to customers.
• Aid in the reconciliation of bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with preparing support for audit requests.
• Assist in maintaining records of financial operations.
• Data entry.
• General finance administrative duties.
• Other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:
• At least Junior level college/university student or graduate student enrolled in a related field (Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field) between January & May
• Strong analytical skills.
• High level of professionalism with ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
• Superior attention to detail and deadline orientation.
• Ability to work efficiently.
• Highly motivated with strong work ethic.
• Ability to maintain discretion concerning confidential records.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
• Strong written and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and typical hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Occasionally must work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required throughout the period of employment, but especially in the three weeks prior to and the week of the Texas Children's Houston Open. Interns are required to be onsite during tournament week, March 24 – March 30, 2025.

Travel

Rare travel may be expected for this position.
