The Internship Program

The Hearst Magazines Summer Internship Program is a paid, full time 11-week program for undergraduate rising Juniors & Seniors. From June 3 – August 16, 2024, our interns will gain an immersive, hands-on experience with one of the top publishers in the world.

In addition to working with their assigned team on important projects, interns will gain access to Hearst's diverse professional network by participating in intimate learning sessions and join fun peer networking activities throughout the summer. Program participants will also leverage Hearst's resources to work on and present a group project to senior leaders at the conclusion of the program.

Oprah Daily is dedicated to helping our readers live their best life every day. At Oprah Daily, we offer stories to inspire directly from Oprah, along with content on wellness, personal growth, style, beauty, and so much more. Through our ''The Live You Want'' Class and curriculums, we cover the issues our readers care about, including menopause, weight loss, longevity, and getting better with age. Oprah Daily also includes Oprah's Book Club, where readers can discover Oprah's latest book club pick and get immersed in our reading guides, author Q&A's, and more; and the annual list of Oprah's Favorite Things, where readers can shop Oprah's tried-and-true favorite items of the year. 

What You'll Do
• Pitch and write stories for OprahDaily.com
• This role will primarily contribute to our SEO/E-commerce coverage, along with social first stories
• Assist with social calendar planning and execution
• Assist with maintaining Oprah Daily's community platform and comments section
• Attend pitch meetings for OprahDaily.com
• Support the Editorial Assistant with administrative tasks
• Assist with special events hosted by the Oprah Daily team as needed 

Who You Are
• Excellent writing skills and strong editorial judgment
• An understand of Oprah Daily's coverage areas and brand voice
• Experience with social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
• A passion for storytelling, service journalism, e-commerce driven content (including gift guides) is a plus

The estimated base salary for this role is $20/hour. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  

This role requires the position to be located in New York, NY with an in-office presence of 3 days a week.
