Job Description
The Job:Documentary interns are immersed in the world of programming. Interns experience the seat of a programmer by reviewing and considering films submissions and learning what fits our programming needs at the time of their internship. Intern multi-tasks by working both independently, brainstorming on creative ideas and seeing it to fruition, participate in project meetings and working alongside multiple team members within the department in various ways.
The HBO Documentary Film intern will work with the programming team and experience what happens before and after a documentary premieres on the network. Additionally, the intern will have an opportunity to learn about careers pathways in the non-fiction industry and provide virtual support to the department, which develops, acquires, and promotes non-fiction programs and new media activity.
The Daily:
• Screening and writing coverage for documentary films.
• Data gathering and input.
• Research and various projects.
The Essentials:
• Applicant must have strong interest in documentaries.
• Computer and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must know how to use Powerpoint; Word and Excel.
• Willing to work with a team and independently.
Internship Program:
• Students must be currently enrolled in a college degree program for the full duration of the internship
• Summer 2022 program dates are June 6th - August 12th (additional time frames are available for students in a university quarter system); must be available for full program duration
• Full-time schedule (40 hours/week)
• Company-issued computer provided for the duration of the internship program.
