The Job

The HBO Max Content Research team aims to be trusted partners for our unique businesses through a lens that is unbiased and unfiltered. This internship is an exciting role that offers collaborative experiences that includes qualitative and quantitative research to gain an understanding of HBO Max content needs, supporting areas such as programming, development and strategy. This role will work across genres which includes comedy, adult animation, drama, reality, international, and more, as well as across all the verticals within the larger Research organization -- Film, Home Entertainment, Design Services, Info & Data Systems, Consumer Products, Global Branded Entertainment, Data Science, Global Social Intelligence, Marketing & Distribution, Games and Fan Lab. This is an exciting opportunity to intern for an entertainment company and learn many lines of the business.

The Daily

This role requires an individual that is a strong collaborator and team player. We're looking for someone that thrives in a collaborative environment, values and understands the content creation business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside content research professionals as they:
• Passionately advocate for HBO Max/HBO content development & programming teams and their respective initiatives/priorities
• Contribute to various types of content testing - pilot testing, episode testing, title testing, concept testing, content optimization, end of season post mortems, greenlight insights, renewal assessments and multiple other projects
• Contribute to various special projects/studies for content development and programming teams (among other teams)
• Contribute to various landscape studies across multiple genres (unscripted, family/live action, international, streaming animated)
• Conduct studies on HBO Max and competitive SVOD health in terms of programming expectations, needs, strengths, challenges, and opportunities
• Collaborate with various internal research teams throughout the organization

The Essential
• Knowledge of and curiosity about the content creation business
• Passion for and consumption of entertainment content
• Ability to be an active listener to stakeholders/business partners
• Knowledge of US programming landscape (streaming, cable, broadcast)
• Exceptional communication skills (presenting/verbal, written, listening)
• Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills
• Extremely detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
• Operational knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Internship Program
• Students must be currently enrolled in a college degree program for the full duration of the internship
• Summer 2022 program dates are June 6th - August 12th (additional time frames are available for students in a university quarter system); must be available for full program duration
• Full-time schedule (40 hours/week) required
• Company-issued computer provided for the duration of the internship program.
