About the Role & Program
Would you like to take your passion for television to the next level by working alongside FX's Emmy Award winning team? As an intern for the FX Original Programming team, you'd contribute your skills and knowledge of television industry to help our growing slate of content in Development, Current Series, and Documentary. We have a prestigious slate of programming that includes FX on Hulu originals Shōgun, American Horror Stories and Reservation Dogs, drama series Snowfall, limited series American Horror Story and American Crime Story, comedy series The Bear, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, What We Do In The Shadows, and a growing slate of docuseries and documentary features. Our team has received 602 Emmy® Award nominations and won 134 Emmys, as well as earned the most Emmy® Award nominations of any ad-supported cable brand for 11 consecutive years!
As an intern, you will report directly to the Manager of Current Series Operations at FX.
What You Will Do
You'd join a team dedicated to creating groundbreaking content. We endeavor to give you as much exposure to the creative process, real-world scenarios and skill sets as we can so that you not only learn about FX Original Series but walk away with the skills and experience necessary to help launch a potential career in TV. You will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with our shows, as well as be given tasks from the Development, Current Programming, and Casting departments. You will be encouraged to read the trades and ask questions. We motivate our intern to pursue things that intrigue you. Every single day as a FX Original Programming Intern is different!
You may expect to do any of the following:
• Writing coverage
• Entering information into grids
• Updating development reports
• Assisting with research projects
• Assist the team with administrative duties
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Strong writing skills and an ability to analyze story and write coverage
• Interest in reading at a high volume
• Strong research skills
• Proven understanding of competitive TV landscape
• Strong curiosity about learning Cable and Streaming TV
• Familiarity with industry talent (writers, directors, actors, etc.)
• Analytical skills for developing projects and giving notes as well as identifying talent (writers, directors, actors)
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in a professional environment
• Passion for learning and eagerness to be a team player
• General knowledge of FX Networks programming
• A background using Airtable
Education
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Students studying in their senior year or recently graduated within six (6) months
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Additional Information
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through early June 2025
• Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Los Angeles, California area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
The pay rate for this internship in California is $22.00 per hour.
