Andscape is a Black-led media platform dedicated to creating, highlighting, and uplifting the diverse stories of Black identity. Magnified by the power and reach of The Walt Disney Co., The Andscape umbrella includes an editorial division, book publishing arm, film and television division and music publishing group, each united by the shared vision of illuminating the culture and experience of blackness. Founded in 2022, Andscape is a reimagination, expansion and diversification of The Undefeated's former platform.

Be a part of an innovative team and culture …

The Digital Social team assists in the daily creation and curation of graphic and video content for Andscape-branded social channels. They post articles, produce static graphic content and video, write headlines and evaluate stories and videos for accuracy, fairness and social/viral potential. The Digital Social Intern must have a commanding knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, be organized, and able to recognize unique and compelling content that will thrive in mobile/social environments. Interns will develop an awareness of the operations of Andscape units in order to assist in successfully identifying and/or developing up-to-the-minute video content optimized for multiple platforms and user needs.

A Day in the Life:
• Engage, reach and distribute content on Andscape social platforms
• Participate with teams internally and externally in the creation and distribution of content that best activates new audiences
• Analyze usage and performance metrics that can lead to content enhancements and improvements
• Maintain proficiency and knowledge in latest trends and best practices for video distribution on Andscape platforms
• Produce, create, and edit videos. This will include headline writing, tagging and managing an overall style and voice, and working with subject matter experts for specific content types

What we are looking for …
• 1 year working in a media environment, creating and managing content, and publishing to social platforms
• Strong base of current sports and pop culture knowledge, including newsmakers and storylines
• Strong understanding and appreciation of news, culture and story play
• Strong headline writing skills, an understanding of optimal tactics for content distribution
• Ability to create and tell stories in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment
• Work quickly and juggle multiple varied tasks during a typical work day
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with a variety of social platforms
• Understand and follow closely the latest in social media trends
• Non-linear editing skills (Quantel, Final Cut, Avid, Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
• Experience in editing content, specific to the needs and specs for multiple social media platforms.
• Has an appreciation of popular culture and assists with understanding the tastes of Andscape users
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional role, organization or activity

Internship Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled in a college or university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Program Dates: The program dates are June 5th through August 11, 2023.

Work Environment: This is an onsite internship based in Washington DC Interns must provide their own housing and transportation.
