Responsibilities: ''What would you say you do here?''
During the course of a 12-week internship, interns will work closely with our world-class artists and top engineers in this field. Some of our engineers started themselves as interns here at DreamWorks and are now leading efforts that are recognized industry-wide.
Our engineering teams work in several subject areas across our pipeline and company. As a DreamWorks Software Engineering Intern, you may work in one of the following areas:
• Rendering and Shading
• Physics and Simulation
• Computer Animation and Graphics
• Big Data and Analytics
• Large Scale Application Development
• Extensions to Third Party CG Applications
• Cloud-Native Application Development
• Configuration Management
• Technical Writing / Web Development
• DCC Tools and Workflow
• Media Playback and Manipulation
On any given day, the intern can work on the following:
• Design, implement, and support aspects of the company's proprietary software tools
• Build unique software solutions that fuel the bold and creative visions of our artists
• Innovate to provide our premier artists with the best tools and deliver a competitive advantage to the studio
• Work hand-in-hand with dedicated artists and have an immediate, positive impact on their work
• Work in a collaborative environment & develop problem-solving skills
Qualifications/Requirements
• Majoring in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Physics, and Mathematics or related field(s)
• Strong interest in animation; passion for how technology and art work together
• Dedicated, resourceful, an excellent communicator, possesses critical thinking skills, and is a great teammate
• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or be a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date)
• Submit your resume, cover letter, and a link to any websites (GitHub, Stack Overflow, etc) or blog indicating technical skills such as math and programming. Relevant coursework listed at the top of your resume is helpful as well.
• Ability to commit 12 weeks to the internship and work remotely
• Ability to work full time (40 hours/week) from June 21, 2022 - September 9, 2022
• Has own equipment (computer, headphones, etc.) and stable Internet connection
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal/DreamWorks Animation worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
