Job Description

The Job :
Position will gain insight and knowledge of the Comic Book industry through practical experience and exposure. This internship is designed for students interested in pursuing careers related to Library archives and inventory management, Editorial Scheduling, Editorial Payments and Talent Relations.

The Daily
• Support the Talent Relations Director & Library Archives Sr. Manager with DC initiatives, talent events and library inventory management.
• Research and support with fact checking the answering of historical and creator inquiries from DC and other internal Warner Bros. Discovery divisions.
• Handle projects related to comic book preservation, digitization, and inventorying, sharing resources with other DC departments.
• Assist with reviewing and approving the use of comic book images re use requested by Consumer Products, Warner Bros. Home Video, and other departments.
• Inventory historical archival items (new and old) and process them for storage.
• Manage lists of talent for convention appearances and provide support for all Talent Relations convention activities as needed.
• Help to the maintain the ''Aging Voucher'' list, and contact talent directly to obtain any outstanding voucher/contracts that are past due.
• Research and provide detailed inventories for ephemera, papers, comics and other collections of the DC Library archives.
• Assist Talent Relations team with demographic research, regular mailings of material to creators and overall support.

Knowledge/Skills

The Essentials:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint in both PC and MAC environment.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and have excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under time constraints, meet deadlines, and manage multiple project elements simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with freelancers and staff.
• Possess strong online research skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be actively enrolled in a US accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
• Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
• Must be in academic good standing (2.8 or above GPA)
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States. US International students must hold a Visa to be considered.

The Nice To Haves
• Familiarity with comic books, comic book history, DC characters and talent.
• Knowledge of publishing business/industry.
• Prior experience or education in a Library, with archive familiarity and experience.
• Knowledge of file set-up, maintenance and filing procedures as well as standard report and letter formats.
• Working knowledge of Amazon Workspace, SAP or ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Photoshop.

Education
• High School diploma required.
• Candidate must be currently enrolled in a college or university.
Other Requirements
• Ability to lift 15+ pounds

And finally, what to know before applying:
• The duration of the program is 10-12 weeks dependent on the student's availability based on semester schedule
• Program date options:
• Start Date: June 5th or June 12th
• End Date: August 18th or August 25th
• Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
• Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
• In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
