Summer Intern - Digital Growth Analytics

Job Description

This internship will be located in the NYC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager's in office schedule. The Intern, Growth Analytics will support CNN Digital's registration/subscription initiatives. This role will be exposed to such initiatives by supporting data pipelines & reporting developing in SQL (Snowflake / Databricks), identifying product insights through adhoc analysis. This role is part of the Data, Analytics, Research & Testing (DART) team, but is cross-functional and will also partner with engineering and product.

Your Role Accountabilities
• Help structure the last mile of data transformations to enable the best possible reporting.
• Perform ad hoc analyses to unpack what's driving the impact for new product features.
• Summarize your findings to influence senior collaborators at CNN.

Qualifications & Experience
• Experience and working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with data viz tools like Tableau, Domo, Looker, Power BI or similar
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver complex messages to diverse audiences.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
• Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergrad Student (18 years or older)
• Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.

Nice-to-Haves
• Quantitative/STEM discipline preferred.
• Familiarity with / proficiency in a scripting language like Python/R.

What to know before applying:
• The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end
option is 11 weeks .
• Program date options:
• Option 1: June 2 nd – August 15 th
Option 2: June 9 th – August 22 nd
• Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required ; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
• Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns.
