Summer Hybrid Intern - Political Unit

The Team
As a Political Unit intern, students will have the opportunity to gain insight into the US political system and CNN's editorial and production process as a part of the team that supports the entire network's political coverage.

The Daily:
• Compile research for CNN's political unit in advance of the 2022 midterm elections
• Gather information on election procedures from state and local officials
• Monitor live political events for news
• Work on live election night coverage
• Assist with other political coverage as needed

The Essentials
• Candidate seeking a career in journalism, writing, or research preferred.
• Extensive understanding of and interest in political campaigns and US politics a must.
• Should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to multi-task, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in an environment with short deadlines and quick turnaround projects.
• Interns would need to be available during the week for this internship.

Internship Program
• Students must be currently enrolled in a college degree program for the full duration of the internship
• Summer 2022 program dates are June 6th-August 12th; (additional time frames are available for students in a university quarter system) must be available for full program duration
• Full-time schedule (40 hours/week)
• Company-issued computer provided for the duration of the internship program.
