This internship will be located in the NYC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager's in office schedule.
Assist the New York newsroom and National News Hub in reporting and production. Join the team at the heart of newsgathering and production for the east coast across the entire network and work in a thriving bustling NYC based newsroom environment full of energy.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Monitor, log and report back on press conferences on pertinent topics with key officials
• Support Reporters & Producers in video package production by searching for video in our systems, logging, and identifying key soundbites
• Assist on the ground with man-on-the-street interviews and other field assistance on major stories
• Chase breaking news and support editorial newsgathering calls on key stories
• Pitch and flag stories in region for CNN coverage
Qualifications & Experience
• Excellent interviewing skills
• Ability to gather news quickly; finding contact information for interview subjects at a moments notice
• Strong news writing ability and a passion for news!
• Experience with pitching and writing relevant news stories
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
• Must be able to be in-person and not hybrid as this is a morning/evening/weekend role
• Must be a rising Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
• Must be in academic good standing ( 3.0
or above cumulative GPA)
• Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

Program dates:
Start Date: January 2 7 th
End Date: April 1 8 th
• Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required ; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided .
• Interviewing will take place from
October through early December . A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
