Spring Intern - Brand Activation and Events

Job Description

This internship will be located in the NYC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager's in office schedule.

CNN is seeking an Intern for the Brand Activations and Events Team in New York. You will be working to provide day-to-day support in executing external and internal event marketing initiatives for CNN. The role requires extensive organizational skills, a passion for the media, the ability to manage multiple projects at once, creativity, independent thinking, personal initiative and a passion for innovation and industry trends. This is a unique opportunity to work firsthand with the Brand Activations and Events Team and gain experience working behind the scenes at a CNN. This role is required to be in-person and will not be remote.

Your Role Accountabilities
• Assist in handling day to day administration of events and programs. Including pre-event, on-site, and post-event support.
• Coordinate and maintain inventory of event assets and premiums.
• Assist with managing event and milestone calendars.
• Source and build relationship with new venues and vendors.
• Support NY-based Studio Tours

Qualifications & Experience
• Experience with event planning and logistics.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must have interest in news, media, and the journalism industry. Along with familiarity of CNN Network and platforms.
• Must be able to be in the office 2 full days a week. This internship will be in-person only.
• Must be actively enrolled in a n accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required )
• Must be a rising Junior, Senior Student (18 years or older)
• Must be in academic good standing ( 3.0
or above cumulative GPA)
• Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

What to know before applying:
• The duration of the program is 1 2- weeks
• Program dates:
• Start Date: January 2 7 th
• End Date: April 1 8 th
• Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a in person capacity.
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required ; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided .
• Interviewing will take place from
October through early December . A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns
