KDKA-TV News and Creative Services Intern (In-Person, Summer 2024)

KDKA-TV/CBS News Pittsburgh seeks an ambitious intern with a passion for journalism, video production, and social media to join our award-winning news and creative services teams. You will learn all aspects of television news journalism, studio and on-location production, commercial production, digital, and more. With this opportunity, the right candidate will be exposed to numerous career paths in the journalism, production and creative services fields. Responsibilities:
• This Internship will be shared between the News and Creative Services Departments. Students will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while working with News and Creative Services professionals.
• Work with News Management and Assignment Desk Editors on developing news stories
• Work with Director of Creative Services on marketing & promotions, public relations, commercial projects and content development
• Production Assistant for in-studio and on-location video production, news gathering, and web development
• Write and produce social media campaigns for news
• Assist with video Editing
• Observe and interact with operations department supervising floor cameras, audio, teleprompter, director and producer duties for live in-studio newscasts and entertainment programming
• Participate in public relations and community events
• Assist on commercial shoots
• Assist Creative Services with department projects and brand development
• Other duties as assigned

Eligibility:
• Internships are available to students who will be Juniors or Seniors in the fall of 2024. If you are a graduating senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities.
• You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June.
• Interns will be required to work fully on-site for the duration of the program.
• Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).
