Job Description
Overview

WIP-FM is seeking to invest in the future generation of sports media by creating an internship in honor of Ray Didinger, WIP radio personality, sports commentator, author, and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This internship will provide coaching, mentoring, and peer support, among other great benefits.

The internship is a six (6) month structured job assignment that will provide career development, access to sports media resources, and professional networks to develop your skills, provide hands-on training from the experienced WIP content team, while ultimately preparing you for career advancement opportunities within our team and the industry at large.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:
• Learn to screen calls during local shows.
• Learn to edit relevant video and audio sound bites for on-air use.
• Research broadcast topics while collaborating with hosts and producers on show content.
• Post podcasts and other post-show digital responsibilities as needed.
• Contribute to content to be shared on social media
• Assist in the preparation of on-air promotions and contacting prize winners.

Qualifications

More About You:

Required & Preferred:
• A rising college junior or senior, or less than one year removed from college graduation.
• Experience running a soundboard.
• Experience using Adobe Suite editing applications like Audition and Premiere Pro.
• Dependability and punctuality are a must.
• Must be available for varied shifts in daytime hours

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
