Job Description
Intern, D-backs Charity Auctions & Authentics

Minimum of 20 hours per week

Part-time/ Seasonal

Location: Chase Field/Phoenix, AZ

Intern Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a junior, senior, postgraduate student, or within one-year post-graduation from an accredited college or university with preferred majors of Marketing, Business, Communications, Retail Management, Sports Management or Tourism/Hospitality.

Primary Duties:
• Assist the Community Impact department with all operational aspects of D-backs Charity Auctions & Authentics, the official source of Diamondbacks game-used merchandise such as jerseys, bats, baseballs and caps
• Work with Major League Baseball authenticators to collect game-used items during Diamondbacks home games and assist in the authentication process of the items
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all collected items
• Research baseball statistics and memorabilia trends to determine pricing model for collected items
• Organize and prepare merchandise displays in the D-backs Authentics ballpark store before each game
• Serve as a game-day lead in the D-backs Authentics retail location during D-backs home games
• Facilitate bi-weekly online auctions through dbacks.com/auction
• Cultivate merchandise sales to customers outside of the ballpark through e-mail outreach
• Plan and execute promotions and sale opportunities to maximize revenue generation
• Participate in other Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and Community Impact programs and events

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
• Must be passionate and motivated to pursue a career in the sports industry
• Must be a self-motivated team player who thinks creatively
• Retail and visual merchandising experience is preferred
• Must be a multi-tasked, detailed, and customer service, oriented individual
• Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and great listening skills
• Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of Major League Baseball players, memorabilia trends and Arizona Diamondbacks prospects is a plus

Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and holidays

Physical Requirement:
• Ability to perform physical labor
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
