Youth Engagement & Development Operations Coordinator

Reports to: Director, Youth Engagement and Development

As the Youth Engagement & Development Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting the Director in the timely completion of all operational entities of Pistons Academy, while assisting in all other youth basketball initiatives. Also, you will support all company-wide youth basketball initiatives as needed.

What you'll be doing
• While adhering to all company policies, maintain all operational aspects of Pistons Academy including contracts with host facilities, certificates of insurance, invoices, payments etc.
• Lead all aspects of the timely collection of documents and payment from host facilities for all Pistons Academy programs
• Lead registration of all Pistons Academy events using ''League Apps'' or other registration software
• Assist the Director in the fulfilment of contractual obligations with sponsors
• Assist the Director in the recruitment and management of Pistons Academy staff; lead coaches and support staff
• Assist the Director in the hiring process of lead coaches and support staff
• Assist the Director in the growth and expansion of all Pistons Academy programming by creating new relationships throughout the state of Michigan that lead to new programming opportunities
• Assist the Director in adhering to a yearly budget for all Pistons Academy youth basketball programming
• Manage Pistons Academy website, including the marketing and promotion of all programs and events
• Assist the Director in the management of Pistons Academy social media platforms by collaborating with the Pistons internal creative and content production teams
• Assist the Director in providing basketball opportunities that improve offerings for group sales, corporate partners and CSR department
• Assist the Director in implementing girl-specific programs that will grow participation of girls each year
• Assist with all on-court youth basketball programming as needed

What we're looking for
• Bachelor's degree in Sports/Event or Business Management, Public Relations, Communications or related business fields
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
• Strong attention to detail, timelines, and organization
• Excellent multi-task abilities
• Ability to organize youth basketball league from start to finish (team selection, game scheduling, standing updates etc.)
• Comfortable in a strongly collaborative environment
• Exceptional professionalism and polish in demeanor and appearance
• Able to be flexible with working extended hours, including events on nights and weekends with
• Ability to travel to venues throughout the state as needed (Good driving record preferred)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
