Bilingual Host/Reporter (PT)

WPRI 12 is looking for a multimedia talent to join our team. This position involves gathering and developing stories, conducting interviews, reporting on community events and happenings, and delivering that content in Spanish and/or English through written stories and video. We want someone who can connect with our viewers through storytelling.
Our goal is to connect with our Spanish-speaking community on all platforms including television, web and social media. This job is for someone who is driven, curious, motivated and ready to excel.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
• On-camera presentation as Host/Reporter for our Spanish language program 12 Informa: wpri.com/12-informa
• Research, find, and confirm stories for digital program and TV
• Pitch unique stories that will grow our audience and our 12 Informa brand
• Establish and maintain relationships/sources in the community
• Take an active role in discovering and creating content, including stories, photos, videos, etc.
• Execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all digital devices
• Write, produce and edit content that appeals to target audiences on web, social media, and TV
• Participate in station community and promotional events
• Understanding of Southern New England and Providence market
• Exceptional writing, speech, grammar and spelling in Spanish

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• 2+ years experience in digital content creation, television or radio broadcasting
• Must be able to collaborate with station teams of content managers, reporters, anchors, videographers, producers, promotions, and engineering staff
• Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods, including creative ways to inform and engage via written, oral, and visual media
• Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills
• Proficient and savvy in social media platforms, tools, and best practices
• Interact with viewers/users via phone and social media sites
• Digital video editing skills a plus
• Journalism experience, news judgment, journalistic integrity a plus

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, TV/film or equivalent experience may substitute 2+ years experience in digital content creation, television or radio broadcasting.

Training/Equipment: Utilize state-of-the-art web and television technology, video and graphics.
