Job Description
Editor/Senior Editor, TarcherPerigee (Hybrid)

TarcherPerigee, a nonfiction imprint of Penguin Random House, is looking for a creative, entrepreneurial editor to join our team, to help us build on our success and grow our list of eclectic and empowering titles. At TarcherPerigee, we're passionate about diversifying the wellness and self-help space to speak to the needs of a wider audience and new generation.

The incoming Editor or Senior Editor should come equipped with ideas, interests, and industry awareness, along with a strong desire to create the change you want to see in the world through books. In this role, the Editor will communicate between authors, agents, and the in-house publishing staff to acquire, shape, and successfully publish books in our core categories, which include mental health, personal growth, guided journals and illustrated gift books, and fresh perspectives on the world around us – all with the shared mission of empowering readers with new insights.

TarcherPerigee's bestselling titles include Set Boundaries, Find Peace, Burn After Writing, The Odd 1s Out, Slow Birding, and Start Where You Are, along with backlist classics like The Artist's Way and Attached. Help us discover the creative, inspiring books everyone will be talking about, whether they're quirky journals, traditional self-help guides, or paradigm-shifting works that change how we relate to ourselves and others – and bring it to readers where they are.

This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).

Please apply using our ATS system by May 30, 2024, and include your resume and cover letter for consideration. Before applying for any role at Penguin Random House, we recommend you review our applicant resources page and look over our open-to-remote guidelines on our FAQs page.

• Following cultural and industry trends in order to evaluate potential projects and identify new opportunities.

The Essentials:
• Minimum of 4 years of publishing experience in editorial acquisitions or development with a genuine interest in empowering nonfiction and a detailed eye on book trends in self help and personal growth
