About Your Role

Shape's commerce team is seeking a Senior Editor to lead the brand's evergreen library. The ideal candidate is a digitally savvy editor who is passionate about all things beauty and fitness. As the site's Senior Commerce Editor, you will be responsible for commerce content strategy and execution, including managing a team of freelance writers, assigning and editing new product roundups and reviews to our network of top product testers, updating existing content with fresh data or new product releases, producing and publishing content in our CMS, and tracking and analyzing the success of all editorial efforts. This job requires both analytical and editorial skills to help you make the best decisions for our readers.

About Your Contributions
• Assign, edit, and publish new best-of lists on Shape, using competitor analysis, marketplace knowledge, and internal Lab and home testing data to back your editorial approach
• Work in conjunction with testing editors and editorial directors across Dotdash Meredith's Beauty & Style Group to choose topics and products for testing at the Lab and at home
• Oversee and execute various Shape accolades programs, including Skin Awards and Sneaker Awards
• Own the brand's overarching social media strategy, scheduling posts and growing our platforms

• Source, vet, and onboard new freelance writers as needed; send out contracts and training materials
• Manage quarterly content budgets and submit monthly invoices
• Stay current on trends and new products, maintaining close contact with public relations agencies
• Track and use performance data to adjust editorial strategy and programming efforts with a good understanding of basic business KPIs such as growth conversion rates
• Use SEO tools and industry knowledge to help strategize next steps
• Collaborate with and manage expectations of the commerce, product testing, and growth/SEO teams
• Communicate effectively throughout the organization on your goals and objectives

About You
• 5-7 years of experience developing online editorial content (ideally in the fitness or lifestyle space) and working with content management systems, including 2 years of experience editing freelance writers
• Familiarity with e-commerce and affiliate content and SEO best practices
• A product enthusiast who spends time shopping and obsessing over purchases
• Passionate about beauty, fitness, celebrity and industry trends
• Detail-oriented and deadline-focused with solid editing skills, as well as a deep understanding of what works on the web
• Strong copywriter, capable of writing engaging, lively headlines and blurbs, all the while keeping the Shape voice in mind
• Self-starter who wants to work for a growing company
• Fitness or nutrition certifications are a plus
• College degree required
