Assignment Editor

Job Description

CBS O&O in Miami (WFOR) is looking for an aggressive Assignment Editor who has a passion for news and a desire to win the big story. The ideal candidate will also be able to develop community stories that have true impact in South Florida.

Responsibilities
• Manage news crews and assignments
• Must be able to manage logistics under intense deadlines
• Monitor phones, scanners and social media
• Contribute to daily editorial meetings
• Review news releases and monitor local news sources

Requirements
• At least three years assignment desk experience
• College degree is preferred, but not required
• Expert multi-tasker who thrives under pressure
• Flexible with schedule: breaking news, cover any shifts that need coverage
