Job Summary/Description:

KCBD is looking for a hard-working, creative and energetic storyteller to join our award-winning team as a newscast producer. This is a full-time on-air position. We will invest in, train and provide opportunities for the winning candidate to grow and prosper.

Lubbock's legacy station is looking for a newscast producer. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer who understands creative visual storytelling and professional delivery.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Produce, with other producers and anchors, our #1-rated newscasts. You will collaborate with other team members to deliver the best possible product on-air.
- Gather and verify news information
- Conduct thorough interviews, research, fact-check
- Deliver content to digital and social media platforms
- Be a team player

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Empathy for others. A team-builder, with a dedication to collaboration and getting it right while serving our community.
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to write conversationally and creatively
- Video editing skills
- Degree in journalism/communications/English or equivalent background preferred
- Some newsroom experience preferred
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Availability to work various hours as breaking news or special events warrant; but understand we have a sizeable staff to spread across all dayparts
- MVR check required
