Position

ABOUT THE ROLE

Salary: $24-$28ph

Location: El Segundo/hybrid remote working

Due to continued expansion, ZOO Digital are currently seeking an Audio Description Script Writer to join their English department based in El Segundo, CA. The English Team is required to create, reformat and edit captions for videos to be distributed on a variety of platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, iTunes, Amazon, Google and Hulu, ensuring all captions and subtitles are presented in perfect English grammar.

The Audio Description Script Writer is required to create, reformat, and edit audio description scripts for videos to be distributed on a variety of platforms such as Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, Google and Hulu. The writer must follow guidelines and best practices set forth by the American Council of the Blind (ACB) as well as client specific needs and requests.

Duties and responsibilities include;
• Responsible for managing tight deadlines, scheduling, and integrating technology effectively
• Communicating with ZOO project coordinators about assignment progress
• Very detail oriented and can shift priorities as required daily to accommodate the changing needs of our clients
• Write and edit audio description scripts for a variety of types of content

All on site ZOO employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and must provide CDC verification of their vaccination status as part of the onboarding process before starting.

Requirements

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Audio Description Script Writer will ideally have a background in journalism, copywriting, English, or related field. Knowledge and experience working with the blind or low vision community or experience in audio description is preferred.

Strong writing, editing, and research skills are required.

We are also keen to hear from applicants with the following skills/experience;
• Fast and accurate typing skills – minimum 60wpm
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity in using search engines to research people, places, and unfamiliar terms
• Comfortable adapting to new software
