In this role, you will act as a generalist and advise on a wide variety of YouTube initiatives, products, and features for your business partners. You will discuss and draft contracts with content owners, distribution partners, and technology partners relating to the community and business ecosystem of YouTube. Our innovative services raise complex questions that demand creative and practical answers.
You will need to be highly organized and able to manage a variety of commercial work, from less complex marketing agreements to complex inbound licensing agreements, while paying close attention to detail. You will be working in a place that operates with a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment. You will have an understanding of Google's business, particularly YouTube and its unparalleled community of content creators, the ability to think and draft quickly and practically are key attributes for this role.

Resonsibilities:
• Advise executive management, clients, engineering, product, and other company colleagues on legal issues and risks, commercial agreement terms and structures, company policies and procedures, and advise on discussion strategy.
• Review, draft, and discuss intellectual property licenses and a wide range of media, technology, advertising, content, and funding agreements.
• Be willing to take on various commercial matters, including complex discussions and contracts, without significant oversight.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
• JD degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of attorney work experience in media law, content licensing, intellectual property matters, or general contract law.
• Experience drafting and discussing legal agreements.
• Admitted to the bar in which position is located and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law.
Preferred qualifications:
• 5 years of experience discussing, drafting, and advising clients on agreements related to content production, distribution, licensing, social influencers, and other media-related agreements.
• Knowledge of contract, media, online platforms, and intellectual property law in a technology context and broad experience in advising on media, entertainment, and technology issues.
• Interest in legal work related to major social causes such as environmental sustainability, racial injustice, and health information.
• Ability to learn quickly and make decisive but informed decisions.
• Ability to have a high level of comfort identifying, escalating, and presenting key issues to executive management.
