Job Summary/Description:

The Assistant News Director oversees day-to-day editorial for our top-rated and award-winning newscasts, digital content and OTT product. You'll do it in a brand-new digital newsroom. See photos here: https://www.wgem.com/page/wgem-careers/

Executive producers, assignment managers, digital managers and other experienced journalists looking to grow in a leadership role are encouraged to apply. This leader reports directly to the News Director and has an excellent opportunity to join a management growth track with the flexibility to try new things.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Four year college degree preferred with significant news gathering, writing and producing experience.
* Strong writing skills are critical.
* Clear understanding of the principles of broadcast journalism.
* Ability to demonstrate personal characteristics such as professionalism, persuasiveness and aggressiveness which are necessary
