Your role:

Reporting to our Global Head of Data Privacy (based in London), this is an exciting opportunity to work with our Data Privacy Team to deliver data privacy advice and develop guidance on an ambitious range of technology and data assignments. Collaborating with a variety of internal stakeholders, including our Global Data Operations and Global Technology teams you will be expected to work responsively and be able to regularly tune and adjust your data privacy advice to add value and help deliver transformational business products that comply with international privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR, PECR and CCPA.

Here you'll get to:
• Providing privacy and data protection advice to our business, with a special focus on worldwide data driven initiatives
• Guiding GDO & GT on how best to ensure data protection by design and default is baked-into the design, build, test and deployment stages of all their activities
• Carrying out GDPR required Data Protection Impact Assessments and providing solutions to mitigate global data privacy risks on a variety of processing activities
• Overseeing data protection and privacy audits and reviews to quality assure compliance with global data privacy regulations, laws and guidance
• Recommending successful compliance strategies and leading on their roll – out
• Assisting with international data transfer and data processing agreements with vendors and other third parties. Providing data privacy advice to contract negotiations where relevant.
• Delivering data privacy staff training to all WMG entities and affiliates globally, with a particular focus on digital data uses
• Writing and updating global data privacy and data protection policies
• Updating the Data Privacy Team on emerging data privacy and data protection laws and guidance
• Overseeing the development and implementation of data privacy compliance activities, including monitoring and record keeping, breach notification logs and records of processing activities

About you:
• 4+ years of relevant transactional legal experience
• J.D. and active license to practice law in the US (state to be determined based on location)
• Should be legally qualified, and have an EU GDPR data privacy or data protection qualification
• Will have extensive hands-on experience of addressing a variety of data privacy and data protection issues, ideally from working in a multi-national organisation, with a minimum of 4 years in a data privacy and data protection focused role
• Must understand and know how to deal with the data privacy challenges relating to digital initiatives, including responding to changing requirements and documenting compliance
• Will be able to make data privacy recommendations successfully in Agile and LEAN working environments, and be able to work at pace
• Will have a detailed knowledge of GDPR, PECR, CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA and a good understanding of other consumer data privacy regulations applying in the rest of the world
• Must be skilled in assessing and implementing controls to manage data privacy risks
• Will be experienced in writing data privacy impact assessments, legitimate interests assessments, data privacy policies and operating procedures
• Will be able to deliver engaging training on data privacy and data protection matters
• Should be effective at communicating with a wide range of partners, both in writing and verbally, and be good at explaining data privacy and data protection issues and processes to business team members.
• Will know how to succeed working independently and as part of a team.
• It would be ideal if a candidate had digital transformation expertise and experience of working internationally
