The Job
Warner Bros. Discovery seeks a Technical Manager, Digital Sports Production to support and manage broadcast, production, and communications technologies for live productions, and to act as the primary liaison between various production and operations personnel: studio, control room, and remote operators; producers and directors; engineers, broadcast tech managers, operations, and our network partners across Bleacher Report, Turner Sports, and Warner Bros. Discovery. This role will help provide and maintain streamlined technical workflows by synthesizing broadcast, streaming, social media, field & studio production, and other emerging technologies and practices.

The Daily

Planning & Communications: Participate in production meetings & ideation sessions for assigned productions, stay abreast of technical innovations, help develop new workflows and iterative improvements. Create and/or distribute transmission requests, signal flow drawings, and other written documentation as necessary. Proactively overcommunicate, own and follow up on any technical and operational issues encountered during live events, and escalate to appropriate departments for solutions.

Hands-on Production Support: Plan and participate in show rehearsals and show days (expect nights and weekends for live sports). Manage video and audio monitoring, communications and IFB, and signal paths: routing, transmission, recording. Some on-set production support in studio and field production environments: adjusting lights, green screens, microphones; setting up Zoom calls, etc. Anticipate problems, actively troubleshoot yourself or escalate to engineering, follow up on immediate issues afterwards. Must be able to remain cool and collected in high pressure situations and offer technical leadership during crises.

Innovate & Adapt: Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone and contribute wherever necessary. You'll be supporting a variety of digital-first content like podcasts/VODcasts, live webcasts, and quick-turnaround recorded content using a variety of tools and technology, for distribution on a variety of platforms including social media, web sites and apps, and OTT/DTC. This is a rapidly evolving world and the job will evolve with it.

The Essentials
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a Media, Communications, or Technical discipline.
• 3-5 years experience in broadcast production, streaming production, video technology.
• Must be comfortable working on remote productions, in control rooms, managing SDI, audio, & IP signal paths, and understanding broadcast practices & terminology.
• General technical proficiency: able to configure, operate, and constantly learn a variety of software and hardware in Windows/PC, Apple Macintosh/iOS, and emerging platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to stay cool under pressure are essential qualities for this role. A passion for sports is preferred.
