Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Collaborate closely with PM and management to drive marketing research, for contributing to maximize the WB title business performance

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

・ Act as the key person on the execution of all research in WBJ

・ Collaborate with PM, drive marketing research for both home office titles and Japanese local production titles

・ Work closely home office research team

・ Work with our internal teams to provide information for research partner needs

・ Participate key meetings

・Coordinate large scale focus group interview to research movie watching trend and generic movie going habit among Japanese audiences in every two years

・ Lead the most of all marketing research below
• Recruited Audience Screening
• Coordinate research dates, create English and Japanese spec sheet
• Draft English and Japanese questionnaire and focus group interview outline
• Write up the report in both English and in Japanese
• Presentation of the results to the executives and filmmakers
• Tracking
• Coordinate weekly tracking for each distribution titles
• Prepare tracking report
• Potential Research
• Brief and coordinate the research design with the research company
• Draft the questionnaire, provide necessary materials
• Presentation of the results to the teams & management
• Online Ad Research, Concept Research: local
• Brief the research company, draft the questionnaire
• Presentation of the results to the teams & management
• Online Ad Research, Concept Research: Home office
• Review the questionnaire/ feedback if necessary
• Submit scene grabs if necessary
• Presentation of the results to the teams & management
• Focus Group Interview
• Create the spec sheet, draft the questionnaire
• Act as the moderator as necessary
• Write up the transcription as well as the report
• Research Screening
• Coordinate with PM to determine research spec, create the spec sheet draft the questionnaire
• Act as the moderator as necessary
• Write up the report in Japanese
• Exit Survey
• Coordinate and arrange research with PM and sales team
• Draft Japanese questionnaire
• Distribute the results both in English and Japanese
• Film Audience Composition
• Find audience composition via research companies depending on title
• Compare how the composition changed over time and share the information with PM for presentation and post release meetings
• Potential Research for Upcoming Local Production Titles
• Discuss with Local Production executives to gather information on the upcoming film
• Draft Japanese questionnaire
• Distribute the results in Japanese
• Global Research
• Review questionnaire and provide translations for global research or annual research for franchise titles
• Coordinate with home office with the research
• Coordinate results presentation
• Research technology
• Review new technology for possible future research methods and exchange the information with management
• Always try to develop more efficient and cost-effective ways to conduct various research

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education

BA/BS degree or equivalent required

Knowledge/Skills

Strong communication skills and ability to organize various marketing research

Business English skill is mandatory

Japanese and English proficiency is required

Analytical and data management skills required

Presentation skill is preferred

Intermediate level financial skill is preferred

PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint)

Work Experience

Minimum 5 years' work experience in marketing research – movie, entertainment is required

Strong collaborator, team player, analytical ability, multi-task is required

Innovative and creative person is preferred
