Vox Media's internal brand design team are caretakers of eighteen powerful digital brands as well as products and lines of business. Our Brand Design team is responsible for launching and growing our brands by creating strong identity systems that can withstand the test of time.

We're looking for a seasoned project manager with experience working with media, journalism, advertising, events and/or with pop culture brands. You thrive in fast-paced changing environments. You are a great collaborator, sensitive to partner and stakeholder needs, and comfortable working in teams, both individually and in partnership with internal and external creative talent. As senior project manager, you will help us execute on this work in the most productive and efficient ways. Ideal candidates will be passionate about media and design. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Design Operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• You'll facilitate the team's understanding of priorities, identify milestones connecting similar workstreams, manage risk, streamline communications, articulate standards for tools and processes, align schedules, and ensure the team has the people and resources it needs.
• Along with your Design Leaders, you'll be responsible to make sure delivered work is on brief, within scope, within budget and conforms with our quality standards, company and team values. You'll report to the Senior Manager, Design Operations.
• You'll empower the team to do its best work by removing daily blockers and helping them get answers to any questions.
• Keep the team on track by understanding and tracking deadlines and gathering clear requirements for each project.
• Help the team work productively by making sure workload is balanced for all team members, and everyone knows what they're supposed to work on next.
• Be a design representative with editorial, marketing and product to advocate for good process and communication. You'll build relationships with stakeholders and become a trusted voice of the design team.
• You'll handle the logistics of relationships with external parties, such as contractors or vendors.

WHO YOU ARE
• 5+ years experience in design project management, preferably from an agency, brand, media or marketing background.
• Experience creating processes for the smooth and efficient workflows for brand, marketing, experiential and digital product projects.
• Ability to create clarity within complex and sometimes ambiguous work environments and a comfort in adapting to rapidly changing circumstances.
• Able to manage multiple tracks of work at once, balancing both short-term and long-term projects simultaneously.
• Able to manage client relationships with poise and professionalism.
• A proven track record of solid written and verbal communication, organizational and leadership experience.
• You have worked with designers and have a strong understanding of design thinking and process and design team culture; as well as, an appreciation for design practice and process to appropriately advocate for design when other members of the team aren't there.
• A high standard with respect to design that doesn't prioritize expediency over quality rather balances the two according to business priorities.
• You have opinions about the best way to organize work effectively.
• You're a listener. You can empathize with a team and with stakeholders.
• Power user of project management software (Monday.com, Slack, Asana, AirTable, Wrike, etc.) to keep all workstreams aligned and informed.
