Associate Director, Business Development [Business/Corporate Development Dept.

WHO WE ARE

As an Associate Director on our Business Development team, you'll assist in identifying and evaluating new business and partner opportunities that align with Vox Media's editorial, business and audience strategies. In addition to supporting strategic projects and partner relationships, you will also work in close collaboration with internal counterparts across the organization to build partnerships that grow audience and revenue.

The ideal candidate has an understanding of digital media and technologies, a proactive entrepreneurial mindset, a keen analytical background, solid interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Identify and evaluate potential new business opportunities and partnership deals for Vox Media's portfolio of brands.
• Use market research and develop financial models to assess the potential cost/benefit of new opportunities required to execute and implement partnerships.
• Stay current on industry trends, landscape changes, and competitor moves in order to surface new potential partnership opportunities to consider.
• Create pitches, strategy decks, quarterly reviews and materials and present to senior leadership
on potential deals requiring approval and provide updates on the status of existing projects.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with external business partners and facilitate collaboration with internal stakeholders (Editorial, Consumer Marketing, E-Commerce, Analytics, Product, Finance and Legal teams).
• Manage day-to-day organization of team materials, documents and deal/pipeline trackers.
• Maintain other responsibilities as needed.

WHO YOU ARE
Our ideal candidate will bring:
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including an ability to use hard data and metrics to support business decisions and facility with presentation of information and data.
• Detail-oriented and possessing strong research skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information across many aspects of the business.
• A can-do attitude and the ability to work on multiple initiatives in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to persuade, build consensus, and work in a team.
• Previous experience in digital media, consulting or business development preferred.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK

This job can work out of LA, NY, DC and SF offices, with the opportunity to work remote full-time if not based in one of our city offices. We're dedicated to the health and wellbeing of all of our employees, and when we reopen, will require everyone who works from one of our offices to be fully-vaccinated against COVID-19.
