The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The digital news team focuses on short form storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay global news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone's projects better. We believe in listening to everyone's ideas and bringing on a diverse group of people who love working together to make the best, most unique news content out there.

Role x You

VICE World News is looking for an experienced leader to drive editorial decisions and coverage of our daily Snapchat news show. You'll be responsible for creating rundowns, drawing on the best reporting from our TV, editorial and social teams around the world. You have a deep understanding of the stories that resonate on the platform and know how to bring them to life through dynamic visuals and graphics. You thrive under pressure and are adept at revising and reviewing scripts, ensuring we adhere to the highest editorial standards. A strong knowledge of news is necessary, along with an understanding of the VICE voice and how to provide a unique take in a crowded current affairs landscape.

Qualifications

You have these:
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in video production, creating news rundowns and working with reporters in the field
• Excellent writing and editing skills; experience revising scripts and shaping story arcs
• A track record of making exceptional content on Snapchat and other vertical video platforms
• Ability to effectively manage a team of hosts, producers, APs, and editors ensuring they deliver on budget and on deadline
• Experience with project management, overseeing many moving parts, assignments, and deliverables at once
• Ability to maintain the highest journalistic standards with an emphasis on accuracy and responsible editorial practices
• Expert communicator; experience giving direct and constructive feedback
• Strong understanding of the VICE voice

We'd love it if you had these:
• Expertise in one of the Vice World News beats including global conflict, politics, crime, trafficking, extremism and social injustice
• Ability to edit on Adobe Premiere Pro
