Senior Brand Strategist

Role x You:

The Senior Brand Strategist will function as the storyteller and strategy partner for VMG's top tier retail account. The relationship is Agency of Record and an ideal candidate has creative agency experience.

Within the VICE Media Group sits publishers like VICE, Refinery29, and i-D. The team and role will work closely with the VP, Client Strategy to develop in-depth proposals that outline the VMG x TARGET partnership approach and insights lead strategy for TARGET key categories.

A Senior Brand Strategist will support strategic communications development, and will be a critical partner for the TARGET integrated marketing and the strategy function. They will focus on driving a strong narrative for our concepts, weaving in cultural, editorial, and audience insights.

The Senior Brand Strategist reports to the VP, Client Strategy.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development of creative direction and campaign strategy for our partnership with up to 15x programs running at a time, using insights to demonstrate how VMG can impact the client's marketing success.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to uncover opportunities, generate insights, and craft and present creative strategies to brief in creative on campaign strategy.
• Review creative work to ensure that all work is laddering up to strategy and guide campaign work from initial insights through execution
• Supports custom research activations alongside insights team.
• Sees all work through to execution to tell a holistic performance story and can make recommendations on how to pivot the work for the next quarter
• Understanding of best practices across influencers/talent, video, on site editorial and white label
• Attend 3-5 client facing meetings per week
• Monitor, and interpret trends in multicultural and general market culture to identify commonalities and nuances for a monthly cultural trend update for clients
• Strategy work focused on multicultural audiences, ideally Black and LatinX women, is preferred

You have these:
• 5-7 years + of experience
• At least 1 year of Brand Strategy experience at a Creative Agency.
• Strong analytic, storytelling and problem-solving skills
• Ability to extract and communicate meaningful insights from multiple sources of data
• A proven track-record of responding to client RFPs
• Experience in building presentations in Google slides with confident storytelling to make connections and help others to see clearly in complex situations.
