The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The digital news team focuses on short form storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay global news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone's projects better. We believe in listening to everyone's ideas and bringing on a diverse group of people who love working together to make the best, most unique news content out there.

Role x You

Vice World News is looking for a talented Assistant Producer to research stories, source archival material and support all aspects of production of our daily Snapchat news show. You'll be working with producers to draw on the best reporting from our TV, editorial and social teams around the world. You have strong research skills and an ability to source the most dynamic visual material to bring our stories to life. You have excellent news judgement and experience performing thorough fact checks to ensure we adhere to the highest journalistic standards. You have a passion for Snapchat and vertical video, bringing an understanding of the stories that resonate on the platform.

Qualifications

You have these:
• Minimum 2 years experience in video production, researching, fact checking and sourcing archival material
• Strong archival research skills and experience working with R&C to licence clips and fill out cue sheets
• A passion for current affairs and experience performing rigorous fact checks
• Ability to work under pressure and oversee many moving parts, assignments, and deliverables at once
• Ability to maintain the highest journalistic standards with an emphasis on accuracy and responsible editorial practices.
• Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
• Strong understanding of the content that resonates on Snapchat

We'd love it if you had these:
• Expertise in one of the Vice World News beats including global conflict, politics, crime, trafficking, extremism and social injustice
• Experience producing content on Snapchat and working with correspondents in the field
