We are looking for a dynamic field production professional. The majority of coverage will involve live college events, and some pro sports. A strong command of college sports knowledge is required to execute, coordinate and produce in high-paced environments. Our Field Producers are asked to work independently for news gathering and for larger group projects, being able to work directly with full crews. The successful candidate will coordinate field productions as well as perform the duties of professional videographer responsible for camera operation, setting up lighting, audio equipment and transmission. A successful candidate will be able to work with events staff as well as direct camera and lighting crews during production events. Additional responsibilities include setting up interviews, gathering video, story elements, SOT and being proactive in challenging situations. The Field Producer is the main liaison between the crew(s) in the field and the newsroom.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Coordinate and carry out the technical requirements for remote and in-house video and podcast productions for CBS Sports Digital. These include but are not limited to live event productions with all 247Sports digital platforms including location site surveys, determining operational and technical requirements, arranging for equipment shipping and delivery from vendors and overall planning of live hits and events.
• Produce production documents as reference guides for live field productions
• Work with the Assignment Desk and Producers to schedule, book and plan remote segments and content.
• Work with Technical Staff to determine best transmission paths and live feed windows.
• Production responsibilities will sometimes include conducting interviews, logging video, and arranging feed windows.
• Manage venue specifications: contacting venue staff to ensure that power requirements, room dimensions, etc. are appropriate for successful completion of the event; troubleshooting any issues that might arise by working directly with venue and production staff to resolve issues.
• Communicate regularly with the Assignment Desk Director and producers to provide project updates.
• Manage live events and ensure all appropriate timelines are met for event production.
• Develop relationships and maintain cooperative work relationships with internal and external resources including but not limited to the College team athletic departments.
• Coordinate technical aspects live on location remotes. Arranging location logistics with college representatives, coordinating data requirements and arranging transmission paths. Also will communicate with control room personnel on the mode of transmission and all technical details.

Basic Qualifications:
• This position is based in Nashville TN and requires frequent domestic travel to cover breaking news, sporting events both live and recorded -- often at the last minute for extended periods of time.
• This position will require a flexible work schedule with long days often required to complete the task.
• Bachelor's Degree or related field work experience is required.
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a professional sports or news photojournalist in a medium to large Television market or closely related field is a must.
• Operational and planning experience working on live remotes is a major plus.
• Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, including voice and email communication.
• Must work well with others in sometimes very fast paced and in sometimes stressful situations.
• Will have the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must operate with the defined goals of the Remote Operations department.
• Maintain a good communication flow with peers and management.
• Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, with excellent follow-up skills.
