What part will you play?
Turner Sports is looking for freelance sports highlights editors to join their Emmy Award Winning Team. As part of the team, you will be editing a game on nights Turner Sports is on the air. We do shows from the following sports, NBA, NCAA March Madness, and our new NHL and MLB packages. There are other entities within Turner where you could also work….NBATV, NBA Draft, NBA Summer League, NBA.com, NCAA.com, just to name a few more.

What will you be doing?

This is a fast-paced sports editing position. Your primary focus will be editing live games, telling the story of the game thru the highlight. Sports knowledge is a must. Working with Premiere Pro is a must. Working under pressure and being able to cut a highlight as the game is being played is what the job is. All our studio shows are live, so timeliness is critical. You will also need to cut brolls/VOs, bumps to break, and sometimes Sound after a game.

What do we require from you?
• Experience in Premiere Pro
• After effects is a plus
• Minimum 2 years experience working on a highlight driven studio show, preferably in a live sports environment.
• College degree preferred but not required.
• Have thorough knowledge of NHL, NBA - NCAA basketball, & MLB – present and historical
• Have knowledge of proper construction of a highlight package and be able to tell the story
• Work under pressure for live TV
• Be able to think outside the box when telling the story of the game
• Know what a bump to break and brolls/VOs
• Be able to cut pregame or postgame sound from any game
• Problem solve with Engineers when troubles arise
• Know where to find historical clips on the Sports server and ability to package these together in a timely manner
• Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
