Job Description

Responsibilities
WSNS-TV, Telemundo Chicago, Spanish language TV station, is in one of the top markets in the country and we are looking for a dynamic, thorough, dedicated Weather Anchor to anchor and produce weather segments across all content platforms, among other projects.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Collaborate to maintain Telemundo Chicago's El Tiempo Primera Alerta #1 most accurate weather forecast standing in Spanish language in Chicago (WeatheRate)
• Gather and creatively prepare weather information for on-air presentation of the daily weather story in all our platforms
• Use all weather resources and tools including Barons and Augmented Reality to depict the weather stories in the most compelling and relevant manner
• Employ strategy and engagement daily on social media including sending severe weather alerts/warnings.
• Lead the team and drive content during severe weather coverage with urgency and accuracy
• Plan for upcoming weather conditions
• Upload weather segments on digital platforms
• Report weather-related stories and features for all platforms
• Must work flexible hours when needed especially during severe weather
• Make public appearances on behalf of the station

Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum 3 years' experience as broadcast, weather anchor or related experience
• Knowledge of computer graphics systems such as: Doppler Radar, Satellite Maps, WSI, Barons, Augmented Reality
• Must possess excellent written and spoken Spanish-language skills
• Proven ability to ad-lib effortlessly while under pressure during weather breaking news
• Willing to work on weekends, nights and/or early morning when needed

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
