Summary of Position

The VP of Media Software Engineering will lead a diverse and global Software Engineering team to design, build, test, deploy and support a Unified Media Supply Chain. Providing the technology strategy, direction and thought leadership for unifying multiple supply chains across multiple brands with functions ranging from Rights, Program, Campaign and Promo Scheduling, Asset Management, Metadata Management and Transformation, Media processing, encoding, packaging and fulfillment to over 100 global endpoints.

This position will provide vision and milestones for the software development teams, define and inform goals, maintain schedules, oversee release deployments and issue communications internal and external to the department. A successful candidate must have deep knowledge acquiring and understanding media product requirements at an good level, managing teams to execute on variable length and overlapping projects with tight deadlines while collaborating on architecture that impacts Media and other adjacent engineering teams outside the department. This role will be dependent on interacting with many internal teams including the department's own Technology team as well as Programming Operations, Marketing, Digital Platforms, Broadcast Engineering, Infrastructure, Operations and Leadership throughout the course of planning, development and support of all Media products. The role also involves being responsive and supporting our businesses live operation needs, triaging when necessary and bringing in appropriate response teams.

Requirements

• Managing >50 media engineers across many geographies

• Excellent planning skills while meeting objectives without perfect information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Very strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn fast, identify and resolve issues

• Able to balance multiple priorities simultaneously without sacrificing quality

• Strong analytical and presentation skills needed to communicate to a wide audience

• Possess a deep memory for details both big and small to guide toward a larger strategy

• Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic and able to prioritize on a variety of levels

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with incredibly deep media knowledge

• Relevant media experience with experience in DTC, SVOD and Linear Broadcast
