Job Description

Summary of Position

The Counsel will be responsible for drafting and negotiating development and production agreements and rendering legal advice with respect to Lionsgate's and Starz's slate of original programming.

Responsibilities
• Drafting and negotiating development agreements and related documentation

• Rendering day to day production legal advice to production executives, producers, and production personnel

• Other responsibilities at the direction of the VP or SVP of Legal Affairs

Qualifications & Skills
• Juris Doctor degree

• Member of the State Bar of California

• Minimum 2 years of legal experience gained in a law firm, focusing on entertainment, noetic property or employment;
or gained in-house as part of a television network and/or studio

• Knowledge of televisions precedents and industry common custom and practice

• Strong drafting skills

• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

• Highly motivated, responsible, extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

• Prior television production legal experience is a plus
