VFX Coordinator Onset and Render Wrangler

Job Description

Are you an experienced and accomplished VFX Coordinator Onset and Render Wrangler? Are you calm, organized, methodical in your approach to work and are looking for a new exciting project to work on? If so – let’s chat!

Project Dates:

• February 7 to March 29, 2022
• May 16 to June 13, 2022

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

DATA WRANGLER

• Responsible for transporting VFX gear to stage / locations
• Be visible on location monitoring either the AD or VFX channel for any vfx related chatter
• Record all required VFX data into the VFX database including focal, height, tilt, focus distance, slate, camera, take related notes and scope of work as confirmed by the vfx supervisor
• Setup and record any witness camera footage
• Photograph camera setups and camera POV reference for all vfx related setups
• Prop and/or reference photography
• Take HDRI photos when required
• Take chrome/diffuse/macbeth chart references for CG related shots

VFX COORDINATOR

• Maintain large physical and google calendar for VFX related scenes and locations
• Schedule outside vendor requirements related to lidar, cast scanning, texture photography needs
• Maintain google calendar for outside vendor dates and ensure applicable HOD’s are aware and have no conflicts with established scan dates (ie/ Lighting and Unit for required power and set light requirements)
• Coordinate any vfx related logistics (consumables, screening areas if required)
• Vet data wrangler database notes and cross-reference recorded data against daily production reports to ensure all VFX are tagged
• Export daily VFX database notes to Producer
• Distribute Data Wrangler PDF notes to applicable parties (Studio, VFX Facility)
• Maintain organized online VFX raid containing all concepts, call sheets, DOOD’s, one-liners
• Sync portable VFX drives for VFX supervisor and ensure a backup system is maintained
• Organize and distribute art department concepts to VFX facility and any other party as directed to by VFX Supervisor or Producer
• Maintain a list of required elements or reference to be shot along with necessary slate reference

Must Haves:

• Excellent scheduling and task management skills
• Clear and strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• The ability to liaise and collaborate with different departments
