Privacy Lawyer (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Please note that this role is based in the United Kingdom. In order to enable us to meet statutory and regulatory obligations of the United Kingdom immigration system you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in the United Kingdom.
Overview

The Privacy team supports all divisions of Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. Its main responsibilities include managing the global privacy programme and providing advice on consumer and employee data privacy compliance.

The role will support the Executive Director, Privacy EMEA and members of the global Privacy team as needed, mainly with relation to compliance and projects for the Sony Pictures Motion Pictures Group.

We are open to this position being remotely based in the EMEA region!

Core responsibilities
• Carrying out Data Protection Impact Assessments – ensuring information is accurate and provided in a timely fashion;
• Carrying out Legitimate Interest Assessments as required;
• Coordinating with the business and infosec to update necessary GDPR documentation such as record of processing activity, list of processors and other required records - ensuring information is accurate and provided in a timely fashion;
• Advising business departments on basic GDPR compliance requirements;
• Assist business lawyers with the negotiation and drafting of data protection terms;
• Updating and drafting data protection notices as needed;
• Assist with compliance on employee and consumer privacy rights and data subject requests
• Ensuring that the requirements and restrictions for international transfer of personal data are complied with – including with relation to Transfer Impact Assessments;
• Working with all parts of the business and the global Privacy team with the implementation of the Sony Pictures data protection compliance programme.

Requirements:
• The applicant must have good knowledge and understanding of GDPR, ePrivacy, Age Appropriate Design Code;
• Typically, UK or EU Qualified lawyer 0-3 years PQE with direct experience within the data protection and privacy field;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Excellent communication skills;
• High emotional intelligence.

Desirable:
• Good understanding of digital technology highly beneficial;
• Language skills would be useful.
