REPORTING TO: Sr Manager, Sales Analytics & Data Management

LOCATION: Culver City

Worldwide Television Distribution is based in Culver City and responsible for licensing features, series and formats to linear and digital platforms worldwide. The LA based Sales Analytics and Insights team collaborates with teams globally and focuses on both local and international projects.

The Role

The Analyst must have advanced knowledge of Excel and have the aptitude to quickly learn SQL and other BI tools (e.g. Tableau and Altyerx). The candidate must have a curious mindset, with an impeccable attention to detail and passion for problem-solving. This role is a great opportunity to learn about the television distribution sales business and the analytics and data science beyond the deal making.

The Analyst's primary responsibility will be to ensure the robustness of the monthly data ingested by the internal IT teams and develop methods to provide confidence in the data quality. In addition, he/she will assist with analytics and insights including deal analysis bringing together deal/licensing nuances, performance data and market dynamics. Analysis will involve excel modelling and data visualizations tools.

This role operates at the intersection of advanced analytics, business intelligence and data systems and as such, the candidate must have a passion for analytics and data. Experience diving into analytical problems and synthesizing disparate data sources is required. Experience in analytics, coding, and/or a basic understanding of machine learning algorithms, data science concepts and SQL are a plus.

The Responsibilities

Data Management (50%)
• Assist with the validation of monthly customer statement ingests to ensure quality reporting used for performance analysis for SVOD and AVOD.
• Work with IT to improve ETL processes and data quality by having a great attention to detail.
• Recommend changes to the data structures to improve efficiency and speed of various Tableau dashboards.

Analytics & Insights (50%)
• Assist with complex analysis involving multiple data sets, algorithms/heuristics that capture the complexities and nuances in licensing deals and normalizing performance data.
• Create excel models for performance analysis and use data science techniques where applicable to enhance analysis.
• Business sense check the outputs of analysis and incorporate market dynamics leveraging the nuances of TV Distribution business.
• Create and maintain insightful Tableau dashboards. Provide advanced visualization and dashboard customizations to business users.
• Conduct monthly analysis such as competitive analysis to provide inputs to senior leadership for strategy formulation.
• Contribute to the bespoke analysis and insights for deals.
• Present the insights and visualizations to sales teams and help drive business decisions.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Management, Finance, Economics or relevant field is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience is required. Experience in TV distribution, sales planning or related areas is a plus.

Technical and Analytical Skills
• Highly proficient in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, formulas) and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Aptitude to learn new technologies and systems used to pull and analyze data including Tableau, Alteryx and account specific vendor data portals.
• Strong data manipulation, data cleaning and data visualization skills for summarizing large data sets in order to facilitate decision making and strategic planning
• Programming experience in any language (R, Python, SQL etc) is a plus
