Strategic Sourcing Agent - Remote

Job Description

Sinclair Broadcast Group is growing and searching for a full-time Strategic Sourcing Agent. This position will buy, as well as direct the purchase of goods and services necessary for the operation of our business. You will have the means and opportunity to raise profits by implementing strategic purchasing processes. The successful candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in supply chain management and the ability to negotiate cost savings. The position will report to the Purchasing Director.

Essential Job Functions:
• Work with corporate departments and stakeholders to strategize, negotiate, process and distribute vendor contracts
• Seek to identify cost savings and drive value from existing vendor spend
• Submit requisitions in the Purchasing system on behalf of other business units as necessary
• Administer various vendor programs across the company
• Work with the Purchasing Director to identify sourcing projects to complete throughout the year
• Maintain purchasing catalogs for accurate product offerings, descriptions and pricing, using Microsoft Excel and Oracle tools
• Review surveys sent to Business Units to gather feedback on supplier performance and other areas as needed
• Work collaboratively with other Strategic Sourcing Specialists on cost savings sourcing initiatives, including data gathering, analysis, etc.
• Work with preferred vendors to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing and contract business terms
• Address and resolve vendor issues as it pertains to contract obligations, including service levels, product / service quality, and pricing
• Provide support to Business Units regarding contracts submittal, purchasing processes, and policies

• Must be able to maintain a courteous, professional working relationship with employees and stakeholders
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new e-tools and resources
• Ability to work independently and on a team
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be organized with strong attention to detail
• Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements

Education / Experience:
• College degree, BS / BA in purchasing, supply chain, business, or equivalent
• Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
• Demonstrate negotiating and cost reduction capabilities
• Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices
