Software Development Manager - Test Engineering

Job Description

Sinclair Digital is looking for a Software Development Manager for our Test Engineering team. The Test Engineering team provides testing infrastructure and services for all digital products including local news, STIRR, Tennis Channel, and Marquee that provide 24 X 7 news, sports, and entertainment to our nationwide audience. This position will lead the test engineering team, partnering with engineering teams to provide differentiated solutions enabling them to deliver high quality software in a timely manner.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Lead a technology team that designs, develops and maintains testing platforms and infrastructure to support our products
• Define and monitor quality assurance metrics for continuous quality & process improvements
• Support team members by providing mentorship and career guidance
• Manage stakeholder relationships and help execute on quarterly planning increments and commitments on behalf of the team
• Work closely with management to identify risks, solve problems, and maintain progress
• Identify & implement solutions for applying new and smarter test methodologies for uncovering quality risk
• Work closely with developers to improve the testability of our applications
• Communicate and coordinate effectively across impacted t eams and stakeholders , working with customer support, engineering and operational teams to ensure systems are intuitive, secure, scalable, reliable, and performant
• Influence the architectural design and implementation of features for testing that f ully meet specifications whilst driving quality and embracing and extending existing policies, practices and design patterns
• Increase team efficiency by removing roadblocks and providing a healthy culture for development

WHAT TO BRING:
• 8+ years of test engineering experience
• Experience managing/leading a high performing test engineering team either as a manager or as a tech-lead
• 5+ years development experience in Java or JavaScript/Node
• 1+ year experience with a modern native-cloud infrastructure and deploying services to them (AWS/Google/Azure)
• Strong knowledge and experience with using web services, REST, and SQL
• Excellent communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
