Job Description

Don't miss your chance to get in on the ground floor as WJAR, Southern New England's News Leader and one of America's most-watched television stations, expands! We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative News Editor to enhance our newscasts. In this position, you will edit stories for our daily newscasts, as well as various special projects. The ideal candidate will also be willing to be trained as a news photographer.

Job responsibilities include:
• Editing video for daily news coverage and special projects
• Taking in news feeds from field crews and various news organizations
• Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts
• Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment

Requirements and Qualifications:
• College degree or minimum one year relative experience in the field
• Knowledge of Avid Media Composer editing technology is a definite plus
• Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment
