Manager, Infrastructure Operations

Job Description

Sinclair Broadcast Group seeks a motivated and experienced leader to join Sinclair Technology Partners Site Reliability Engineering group focused on Infrastructure Operational Services. The individual will develop, integrate, and support key enterprise infrastructure solutions.  

Responsibilities:
• Lead the SRE team from an overall perspective being point for how Sinclair runs operations across its diverse set of environments
• Provide enterprise-wide leadership for both systems and network support for Sinclair's broadcast environment
• Use of metrics and data for baseline analysis, capacity trending, and alerting
• Provide coordination for Kanban based Agile project management focused on SRE projects across the Sinclair family of companies
• Troubleshoot enterprise-wide issues working with other SRE team members and internal stakeholder groups
• Create and manage system documentation, including configurations, backup procedures, and the implementation of a CI/CD approach to Enterprise Management and the Operations team
• Drive team for continuous improvement in support of the Sinclair environment and find ways to ultimately eliminate future problems through thorough root cause analysis and full remediation.
• Technologies supported in this high availability 24/7 environment include, but not limited to, Windows and Linux, VMWare/Nutanix/Openstack, traditional and virtual networking stacks, L4/7 Firewalls, MPLS circuits, SDN solutions.
• The ability and understanding to drive automated solutions for repetitive problems and tasks to include enterprise-wide configuration management
• Implement and provide ongoing project-level guidance through Agile project management methodologies

Managerial requirements include:
• Manage, mentor, train, and provide guidance to team of System and Networking Operations engineers
• Responsibility for the SRE Operations status for the Sinclair Enterprise
• Establishment of KPIs, monitoring, metics, and automation systems
• Coaching and mentoring team members for personal and professional growth
• The ability to set and manage SMART goals for the organization aligned with higher-level business outcomes
• Implementation of and delivery aligned to SLAs for internal customers
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong belief in a communicative and collaborative environment
• Experience establishing and revising of information systems policies and procedures
• Drive and participate in monthly operational reviews to systematically improve the state of the enterprise environment
• Vendor management experience

Experience, Skills & Competencies:
• A bachelor's degree or masters in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership position at lead or manager level
• 5+ years working in a dynamic, agile environment aligned with ITIL concepts
• 10+ years of relevant systems/network/cloud analysis/support experience
• 10+ years of relevant experience directly administering and supporting enterprise environments
• Understanding of enterprise networking, dynamic routing, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP, L4/L7 Firewalls, NVF, VNF, and security-focused architectures
• Experience with enterprise-class virtualization platforms – VMware/Nutanix/Openstack
• Experience troubleshooting networks both traditional and virtual including performance, configuration, and application/end-user experience
• Experience with stand-alone, converged and hyperconverged infrastructure and related network solutions
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to quickly grasp technical issues and offer solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• A professional business demeanor
• Customer-focused attitude and desire to interface directly with end-user clients
• Ability to work as a team member putting the needs of the organization over personal

Preferred candidates would also meet one or more of the following criteria:
• AWS/Azure/GCP Certifications – Networking Exam a Plus
• VMware/Nutanix/Openstack Certifications
• Cisco/Windows/Palo Alto/Ansible Certifications
• Knowledge in a scripting language like Python, Go, .NET, Powershell
