This Telemarketing Account Manager is responsible for selling our complete list-S&S Wholly Owned Adult, Children's, Audio, and Distribution Clients-to 96 accounts (58 independent bookstores in the Midwest and 38 Educational Wholesalers in the western part of the US as well as Illinois).

The Telemarketing Account Manager is required to perform sales analysis to make recommendations on product selection and volume to their accounts based on knowledge of their customer as well as Simon & Schuster priorities. For independent bookstore accounts, responsibilities include seasonal sales calls, influencing buyers, managing coop budgets, planning promotional placement in-store and online, recommending author events, proactively soliciting frontlist and backlist orders, managing sales order processing, and managing operational issues around stock, orders, and shipment. For Educational Wholesale Accounts, responsibilities include building relationships with buyers, presenting seasonal titles to collection development, forecasting to manage stock flow with supply chain, providing accounts with responsive information for bids and stock information to ensure placement of S&S titles for their customers, offering alternative title suggestions based on stock availability, presenting titles to accounts, working with key accounts involved in state departments of Education and school district bids.
• Minimum 3 years of sales experience in a mid-size or large publishing company.
• Experience in the educational marketplace a plus.
• Retail account experience a plus.
• Experience with sales order processing and account analysis.
• Experience and strong ability using Edelweiss and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and deal with a high volume of transactions.
• Attention to detail is critical.
• Strong, passionate reader and communicator
